Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Start by vacuuming the area you plan to clean to remove loose dirt, dust, and debris from the carpet surface.

   • If removing stains, pre-treat the stain with your stain removal product. This can be done with Bissell Pretreatment. 

2. Setting Up the Machine:

   • Make sure the machine is unplugged from the power source before you start.

   • Remove the clean water tank from the spot cleaner. Unscrew the cap off the clean water tank. Fill the tank with clean, warm water up to the designated fill line. Do not use hot water as it may damage the machine.

   • According to the product’s instructions, add the recommended amount of Bissell cleaning solution or a suitable carpet cleaning solution to the solution tank.

   • Attach the appropriate cleaning tool to the hose of the Bissell SpotClean. Various tools, such as tough stain or regular cleaning tools, are available for different types of cleaning.    • If your model has a separate dirty water tank, make sure it’s empty and properly attached.

3. Cleaning Process:

   • Plug in the Bissell SpotClean and turn it on.

   • Press the trigger on the handle to release the cleaning solution and water mixture onto the stained or dirty area of the carpet. Avoid saturating the carpet; you want to dampen it without soaking it. 

   • Release the trigger and use the spot cleaner’s scrubbing tool to agitate the solution into the stain. Work circularly and avoid excessively scrubbing, especially on delicate carpets or fabrics.

   • Allow the cleaning solution to sit on the stain for a few minutes (refer to the cleaning solution’s instructions for the recommended dwell time).

4. Suction and Extraction:

   • Release the trigger on the cleaning tool and then press the tool down to begin the suction and extraction process. Move the tool over the area slowly to remove the cleaning solution and dirt from the carpet fibres.

5. Repeat if Necessary:

   • For particularly stubborn stains, you may need to repeat the cleaning process by applying more cleaning solutions, agitating, and extracting a few times.

6. Drying:

   • After cleaning, use a clean cloth to blot the cleaned area. This helps absorb excess moisture from the carpet.

   • Allow the carpet to air dry completely. To expedite the drying process, use fans or open windows. Avoid walking on the damp carpet until it’s fully dry.

7. Final Touches:

   • Once the carpet is dry, vacuum it again to fluff up the fibres and remove any remaining loose dirt.
