Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Start by vacuuming the area you plan to clean to remove loose dirt, dust, and debris from the carpet surface.

2. Setting Up the Machine:

   • Make sure the machine is unplugged from the power source before you start.

   • Remove the clean water tank from the spot cleaner. Unscrew the cap of the clean water tank. Fill the tank with clean, warm water up to the designated fill line. Do not use hot water as it may damage the machine.

   • Add the recommended amount of Bissell cleaning solution or a suitable carpet cleaning solution to the solution tank according to the product’s instructions.

   • Attach the appropriate cleaning tool to the hose of the Bissell SpotClean. There are various tools available for different types of cleaning, such as tough stain tools or regular cleaning tools.

   • If your model has a separate dirty water tank, make sure it’s empty and properly attached.

3. Cleaning Process:

   • Plug in the Bissell SpotClean and turn it on.

   • Press the trigger or button on the handle to release the cleaning solution and water mixture onto the stained or dirty area of the carpet. Avoid saturating the carpet; you want to dampen it without soaking it.

   • Use the spot cleaner’s brush or scrubbing tool to agitate the solution into the stain. Work in a circular motion and avoid scrubbing too aggressively, especially on delicate carpets/fabrics.

   • Allow the cleaning solution to sit on the stain for a few minutes (refer to the cleaning solution’s instructions for the recommended dwell time).

4. Suction and Extraction:

   • Release the trigger on the cleaning tool and then press the tool down to begin the suction and extraction process. Move the tool over the area slowly to remove the cleaning solution and dirt from the carpet fibres.

5. Repeat if Necessary:

   • For particularly stubborn stains, you may need to repeat the cleaning process by applying more cleaning solution, agitating, and extracting a few times.

6. Rinse (Optional):

   • If your spot cleaner has a separate rinse function, you can use it to rinse the treated area with clean water. This helps remove any residue from the cleaning solution.

7. Drying:

   • After cleaning, use a clean cloth to blot the cleaned area. This helps absorb excess moisture from the carpet.

   • Allow the carpet to air dry completely. You can use fans or open windows to expedite the drying process. Avoid walking on the damp carpet until it’s fully dry.

8. Final Touches:

   • Once the carpet is dry, vacuum it again to fluff up the fibres and remove any remaining loose dirt.
